Message from the

Executive Director

Tina Cahill, M.Ed.

Executive Director

As the Executive Director, I am grateful for this opportunity to lead Recovered Souls and to advocate for its mission and the individuals who strive to break free from the cycle of addiction.

Since its inception, the foundation has granted individuals struggling with substance use disorder assistance with transportation to treatment facilities and funds for those actively working their recovery to address housing and food insecurity. In collaboration with the Board of Directors and our generous donors, we are committed to expanding the organization’s services by guiding individuals in career exploration, skill training, the college admissions process, and personal enrichment opportunities.

I have spent my career in education and development. In my experience, I’ve learned the importance of working closely with vulnerable individuals to ensure they properly navigate systems to eliminate intimidation or frustration with processes and procedures, which may lead to abandoning their life-changing aspirations.

For many, rehabilitation is not enough; sustaining recovery with positive life experiences and goal setting is the next step in achieving personal and professional well-being.

Due to the support of our generous and committed donors and in conjunction with grants and fundraising activities, Recovered Souls provided individuals with experiences that strengthen and enrich their journey in recovery. Since 2021, Recovered Souls has assisted hundreds of individuals in the following ways:

  • Travel Vouchers granted vouchers for access to meetings and employment
  • Housing Assistance: assisted individuals transitioning from treatment to sober living, or faced with unforeseen circumstances or medical issues that present them with financial challenges and the possibility of losing their housing.
  • Food Insecurity: distributed supermarket gift cards to sober homes to fill their food pantries during the holidays. In 2023 and 2024, we collaborated with community partners to distribute 100 turkey dinners each year to residents in sober homes.
  • Assistance with College and Career Exploration: Enrolled students in HiSet /Ged Prep Courses to attain a high school diploma equivalent, coordinated, implemented, and funded a Computers for the Workplace Course, provided college admissions counseling and scholarship, and paid for skill training workshops and fees.
  • Coordinated the Quincy Recovery Walk on September 24, 2023, and October 6, 2024. Held at Pageant Field and proceeded along a three-mile loop via Quincy Shore Drive, with entertainment and refreshments, free to all participants. The Recovery Walk is an event created to celebrate those who are in recovery, thank and recognize those who work in the recovery field for the benefit of others, and have a moment of intention for those who continue to struggle.

With your participation and generous support, Recovered Souls will continue to offer the programs and services currently being provided and explore new opportunities that will enrich and strengthen the lives of individuals actively working on their recovery.
